A Long Journey
(Sameer Goel)
From: I have a dream
To: Let me breathe
he had a dream, so bright and clear
unmisted vision, ne'er to get blear..
a legend, he was, with guts of steel
a quest persistent, an urge to anneal..
a lot was done, a lot need be done still
minds, so frozen, need flow free like a rill..
that old ritual, those sick predicaments
need fresh mindsets, host of amendments..
came a time, when freedom, a nation got
a legend, yet again, broke that very knot..
this world seemingly got a kind breather
though it was a mirage, or an illusion either..
still that evil, the racist mindsets prevailed
admonishing humanity, lives cruelly assailed..
wake up, o' beasts, humanity so cries loud
don't call for a curse, your sins so endowed..
'let me breathe', as a soul sighs its last
all get awakened, emotions got aghast..
let's all kindle love, a brotherhood divine
"Love Thy Neighbor" an ordain benign..
we all are humans, irrespective of color
blood in all, crimson, a Grace spectacular..
why create walls, why such a discrimination
break these walls of prejudice, we are one nation..
