Issues there,  lacks Global leadership

The French Ambassador to the UN  Nicolas de said, Seven European nations -  who are now members of the UNSC – viz., France, The United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Estonia, Ireland and Norway - warned, any Israeli annexation to the West Bank (Palestine) would harm their ties with Israel.

He said, “We all currently enjoy a close relationship with Israel and wish to continue working with Israel in a constructive and comprehensive way in the spirit of the long following friendship that binds us,”  “If any annexation of the West Bank, however big or small,  is implemented, it would constitute a clear violation of international law, including the UN charter as well as the UN Security Council resolutions.  Annexation would weaken peace efforts and harm the security of the region, including that of Israel.”                                                                                                                                                                                                               World News

Founder of the Mumbai-based (India) Islamic Research Foundation  Zakir Naik,  was granted permanent residency in Malesia (which is unusual) came as a result of a request from the government of Pakistan.  This crystallizing alliance will create considerable consequences for Israel and some of its partners in the region and beyond. Zakir Naik’s activities, lifting powers to a parallel center from the traditional Islamic world, invites greater attention.

Naik, for his part, has offered praise for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This Islamic preacher referred the Turkish leader as “one of the few Muslim leaders who have the guts to support Islam openly,” adding: “Oh Muslim world, wake up.... May Erdogan be the next leader of the Muslim world”. The emergent alliance between three Muslim countries – Turkey, Pakistan and Malaysia - is a reflection of a shift in power in the Islamic world away from its traditional Arab center.                                                                                                                                                                                                             World News

Present-day China has ambitions to be the No.1 power in the world and is involve in a bitter economic conflict and power struggle with the US.  China feels that India is getting closer to the  US and is an obstacle to their ambitions.  Hence they must do India down.  Their nexus is with Pakistan serves their purpose and further enhances the threat to India.

The recent Galwan incident has unfolded the long term Chinese ambitions in this area.  Their long term strategy could be to try to capture the DBO – Karakkonam pass and join up with Shaksgam valley – Indian territory ceded to them by Pakistan – and then help Pakistan capture Siachen glacier.  The capture of Northeastern Ladak will provide depth to the Aksai chin road and security to the China-Pakistan economic corridor, on which they are investing $62 billion.  The gravity of this impending threat is unimaginable.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  N.C. Vij, Defense expert

Head of the WHO said,  the lack of global leadership and unity to fight the coronavirus is a bigger threat. The politicization of the pandemic had made the situation worse. The number of reported infections soared in Brazil, Iraq, India, and many US states straining local hospitals. Over 3months the world has seen one million virus infections, but the last one million cases have come in just eight days.

The greatest threat we face now is not the virus itself.  It is the lack of global solidarity and global leadership.  The  Politicisation of the pandemic has exacerbated it. We cannot defeat this pandemic with a divided world.

Nearly 9million people have been infected by the virus worldwide and around  5lakhs  have died.  According to figures compiled by Johns Hopkins University experts say, the actual number is much higher, due to limited testing and asymptomatic cases.                                                          WHO head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus
