                           LONDON VS DELHI

London the capital and most populous city of England and U.K, standing on the river Thames, with population 8.63 million. The area of London is somewhat same as the area acquired by the national capital Delhi, which has a population of about 18.2 million. Delhi is the second most populous city and second most populous urban agglomeration in India.

London is a leading global city with strengths in the art, commerce, education, entertainment, fastion, finance, healthcare, media, professional services, research and development, tourism and transport all contributing to its prominence. It is the one of the world’s leading financial centers and has the fifth largest metropolitan area GDP in the world.

It also has the world largest  city  airport  system and first position in technology. It contains four world heritage site: the tower of London; kewgardens, the site comprising the palace of Westminter, Westminder abbey and St Margaret’s church and the historic settlement of Greenwich.

Delhi has the two prominent features of the geography are the Yamuna flood plains and the Delhi ridges. The tourist places are the Humayun’s tomb, Red fort, Qutub Minar, iron pillar of Delhi, Yogmaya temple, lotus temple, India gate and Akshardham temple.

Both the cities shares approximately same area but the development differs a lot. The roads of London is far narrow than the roads in Delhi but the pollution and traffic is controlled and environment is kept greenly in London. The cost of public transport in the capital is 42% lower than the cost in London. The financial structure of London is far better than Delhi. But 90% of the people in London have their own vehicle but only 35% of people use it. Rest of the people makes use of the public transport which make the traffic and pollution controls.

Delhi is called the stereotyped as the crime capital of the country with women vulnerable to

rape;abduction and murder, shockingly the crime rates in London are higher in case of murder and homicide.

The annual gross value added growth in the metro is during 2014-2030 will be 7% while London will see growth by 2.2%. Delhi scored an index of 6.0 as compared to London who have lower levels of inequality with index of 3.6.

Delhi also has a higher average density of built area but this is due to the sad fact that the city only accommodates 2sq meter of green space per person. London offer 36sq meter per person due to the abundance of parks, backyards and gardens.

As India stands for the clean India campaign let us hope that our national capital will positioned first for the free pollution and traffic and let compared the city which has same area covered as the Delhi.
