                                                   Jesus
“Every one of us is potentially divine.  Radiance of divinity within, may be temporarily veiled by egoistic thought processes: but the jewel within the lotus of the heart cannot be hidden forever.  At some point, whatever is obscuring, it could disappear, revealing the truth.  Such a one in whom the core of consciousness shines forth, exuding selfless love and bounteous beauty, is called a perfect being: a Christ, Budha or Paramahamsa.

If we meditated for 30 years, and seen all kinds of visions and yet there is not an iota of love and concern for those who are in misery, we have to re-examine and re-assess where we have gone wrong.  If the heart does not melt at the cries of pain around one all the years of so-called meditation have been futile.  We have lived in a world of illusions and imagined ourselves to be saints.

When we talk of Hindus and Muslims as being separate, I am reminded of what the Bible says: “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” And “Those who are pure in heart are God.”                                                                Sri  M

“Today’s  lingo is all about e-social media.
We are exploring outer space and we get to see pictures of the universe.

     We have split the atom.

Yet,  we have not been able to fathom the mystery that is life, the miracle of a newborn child.  Does every Christmas that comes and goes not say anything to us?

How wonderful it would be if the festival inspires us to work to make a difference in the lives of others!

We are a people of hope, so we can become anchors of hope for others.  Nobody said the journey would be easy. But the more hardships we overcome  on the way the closer we come to the great mystery of Christmas - a festival that never changes.Christmas gives us the reason why Christ was born to bring human dignity and hope to all.  Those who claim to be his followers ought to take up these challengers in right earnest. The physical and the spiritual are not dichotomized, they are the integral.  The more things change, the more layers of meaning we will uncover at Christmas.  Or it will be just a glitzy grand event that will bring us short-lived pleasure without having experienced its true meaning and purpose?”                           Janina Gomas

“A prophet in the Bible, Isaiah  predicted the birth of Jesus Christ thus:   “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called wonderful  counselor, mighty God everlasting father , Prince of Peace.”(Isaiah 9:6)

This verse talks about his humanity, divinity and royalty.  Jesus Christ was fully human, born like other human.  He was born as a human, experiencing the experiences-including the mad, bad and the sad-that we all experience.

Jesus Christ was not a man who became God.  He was God who became a man.  He was not just another human being sharing the experiences of humankind.  He was God entering and experiencing human life in all its glory and gore.

Christ’s role is to guard, to guide and to provide.  And he is the “Prince of  Peace” born to usher in true and peace-peace in the right order: peace in the fullest sense.  As Christian mystic Thomas Merton says,  “Man is not at peace with his fellow man because he is not at peace with himself because he is not at peace with God.”

Christ’s Government is also upheld “with justice and with righteousness” and “of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end.”(Isaiah 9:7)

The birth of Christ marks the end of confusion and the possibility of wise living.”                                   Anju Kevichusa
