Beware : Zikha Virus in 14 countries |

The zika virus, linked to birth defects, will spread to all of Latin America and the Caribbean as well as southern U.S.This virus is a tropical disease transmitted by mosquitos that has been linked to birth defects and death of newborns. The mosquito-borne virus is suspected to cause a rare brain defect in babies, known as microcephaly, which causes abnormally small heads, leading to severe developmental issues, brain damage and sometimes death.
Zikha, the mosquito borne virus has spread to 14 countries.

have been detected in Colombia, a number that could rise to 700,000, with health experts warning the epidemic may spread across Latin America. Zika and Chikungunya viruses, which are all carried by the same species of mosquito. According to the WHO, in adults, the viral disease usually causes a mild fever, rash, headaches, arthralgia, myalgia, asthenia and non-purulent conjunctivitis.
To combat the virus, which is spread by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, is to clear bodies of stagnant water.
Brazilian government reported 3,500 cases of the virus, which can cause severe developmental issues, brain damage and sometimes death. Ie., Zikha.
3,530 babies have been born with microcephaly in the country since October: a steep rise from 2014, when fewer than 150 such cases were recorded.
Brazil is the most gravely affected among the 20 countries in the region that have been hit by the virus.

Many pregnant Brazilian women are planning to leave the country , fearing Zikha virus.
El Salvador’s vice minister for public health, Eduardo Espinoza, warned women from the central American country to avoid having babies for the next two years to avoid passing on potential negative effects of the Zika virus.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, warned pregnant women off travel to 14 countries and territories in the region.
