The love story of French president elect Emmanuel Macron and the first lady to be Brigitte Trogneux Macron is a potential blockbuster.

             Brigitte is the force behind Macron, the youngest President elect has confessed several times in the past.

          Their love story began 24 years ago, when Emmanuel Macron was only 15 and played a character in a play at his school directed by Brigitte Trogneux, 24 years senior to him.

         Brigitte Trogneux was the drama teacher of Macron, the teenage boy fell for. Brigitte first became a mentor, then a partner and finally the wife.

         After winning the most keenly observed and fiercely debated French election, Macron said, “Without her, I wouldn’t be me.”

          It seems like it was at love first sight –  it’s understood the pair used to have long discussions together – and she would read his writing out to the class.

          She told Paris Match Magazine: “At the age of 17, Emmanuel said to me, ‘Whatever you do, I will marry you!’”

         Macron’s parents found out about their ‘unusual’ love story asked the then 40 year old Trogneux to stay away from their 16 year old son, at least until he turned 18.

         In her life before Macron, Trogneux was married with three children who are now all grown up and work as an Engineer, cardiologist and a lawyer. She even has six grandchildren.

       Her parents were part of a renowned chocolatiers in Amiens, which has been in the family for five generations and has turned over as much as 4 million euros per year.

          After completing her education,  Brigitte became a school teacher. She taught French literature, Latin language and drama. She was well settled in her marriage with a fairly successful banker Andre Luis Auziere.

           The drama at school changed the life 

of the teacher and her student. Macron was so insistent and persuasive that Brigitte Trogneux decided to separate from her husband and the father of her three children.

          In an interview, Brigitte said, “It was impossible to resist him.”

          Brigitte divorced her husband Andre Louis Auziere in 2006. She married Macron the next year, 14 years after the drama that they played together.

          Having been a teacher of drama and literature helped Brigitte train her husband to be campaign ready and up to the task.

          In 2015, when Emmanuel Macron was the Finance Minister of France, Brigitte quit her job to stay with Macron in Paris.

    When Macron hit the roads for presidential election promising that he would neither follow the left or the right side of political ideology, Brigitte tutored him on how to improve his speeches.

          Before Macron went out to deliver a speech, he would practice it in front of Brigitte. She would do all the corrections in diction, in pitch variation, voice modulation and choice of words.

          The result was so powerful that the French electorate just went with the flow in an election which had given a huge boost to the far rightist National party and its candidate Marine Le Pen as for the first time since 1958, the incumbent President  

stayed away from the electoral fray.

          The first lady in France is not known to play a very active role in the working of the President but Macron had said during the campaign that he would give Brigitte an official role.

           Well, obviously as a teacher, she has some leadership skills.

             “As a teacher I know young people well. And I think it’s essential to keep them in mind,” She said in an interview.

        “I will fight for their education” she said.

          And we can assume that she would be the staunchest of Macron’s supporters. After all, she has been his biggest supporter since he was a teenager.

          These are the reasons why Emmanuel Macron chose this lady, who is 24 years elder than him as his better half rather than choosing a younger persons. Her supporting attitude and maturity brought him closer to her.

          Those who criticized him for marrying a much elder lady are now praising his decision, because she has played a tremendous role in making him the President of France!!

          In fact, it should be noticed that these guys are living happily neglecting the age gap in a world where some people run after horoscopes to find their soul mates and ends in a divorce. This proves that beyond everything what matters more in a marriage is the liking to each other. Each other’s qualities should be compatibile.
