                                                                                                                                 When Jesus woke up

A Jesus resurrected in antiquity and won over hearts and minds of millions. Here, it is now the turn of his namesake to wake up from a coma – but not to surprise, alas! to be surprised.  He was a die- hard fan of the modern day tennis legend – Roger Federer, when he fell into coma and still is. The story roughly goes like this.

Jesus, who went out with pals to roam around and celebrate his eighteenth birthday on 2004 December 12th, returned as a living corpse. A car accident had occurred to him, throwing him into the abyss of unconsciousness of a coma. It was not one or two years, but eleven years had elapsed that Jesus Aparisio opened his eyes to consciousness. It was on last August 27th that, that auspicious event occurred. On that day, when he regained consciousness, Jesus enquired about one man –Roger Federer, firstly. He was eager to know about the whereabouts of Roger Federer – whom he had adored immensely, during his days of adolescence, which was immersed in revelry. Roger Federer, for Jesus was truly a tennis wonder. By remembering firstly his fond star, while in the doorstep of his new life, Jesus Aparisio from Sevia of Spain has become a News Star in sports arena. In 2004, Federer was surging through his first year of dominance of his career, in his twenty third year. Tragedy visited Jesus’ life just after witnessing the initiation of this phenomenon.  Then, Federer had achieved that year’s third Grand slam and fourth of his career, by defeating Lleyton Hewitt, in US Open.

Jesus’ fond star was then world number one. As the misfortune swooped on him, Jesus, who was living on the dream of seeing Federer sometime, was saving money to go and see the next year’s Wimbledon tournament.

‘I came to recall that immediately. Thus, I asked about Roger Federer. I thought that he would have retired, already. However, when I heard that he is still playing even in his 34th year and is world numero uno, I thought they were mocking me. I could not believe. When I was told that

he had achieved seventeen Grand slams, I was overwhelmed with surprise. I knew that Federer was excellent. However, I did not expect that he would achieve what he had achieved.’ – Jesus said about the Federer experience of his rebirth.

The sight of his adored idol playing in US Open final gave the opportunity for Jesus, who woke up from his coma bed, to be immensely glad. Although Federer did not win, his excellent performance filled his fan’s heart to brim. Jesus says that the Swiss master’s game enthralled him. However, Novak Djokovic, who attained the crown, was a complete stranger to him. “Djokovic’s game is excellent but still Federer is the best. I was glad even in the failure of my hero, for the hope that I could realize my dream of seeing Federer directly. Now my aim is to directly witness Federer playing, before he retires.”Jesus has made up his mind that, that will be his fond star’s eighteenth Grand slam victory.
